    MadLight trouble responding with LED

    by Marshall B » Mon May 13, 2013 7:23 pm

    Hello All,

I just got around to jamming on MadLight using an Enttec ODE, Macbook Pro, DMX and an ADJ MEGABAR 50.

I am having some trouble sending the Artnet Output signal to my Megabar 50. I know it should be possible to communicate with this type of LED since it's using DMX. I am wondering if anybody has any experience rigging this type of light to work with madlight. Attached are some pictures of my IP settings and such.

    Note*
In the image of MM/Graphic Patterns it IS showing a signal for Artnet Output! Just no response from my LED.

    Hey All!

The problem that I was having was a result of network interference. A good tip for people starting out using Artnet and Madlight is to turn off your internet connection to avoid interference!!

I don't have my Entec in front of me to test, but i don't remember manually setting the IP address. I could of swarn I just let it obtain an IP automatically. Use the Entec software to test the connection.

I have done everything in MadMapper as per the tutorial, and my Art-net Pro shows a green flashing light to indicate art-net signal getting to it, but even once the LED strips have been addressed, they still do a colour scroll (as to indicate no signal)? Please help!

    Andrew,
Are you sure your Enttec OpenDMX ethernet is configured for DMX output ?
Are you sure you Enttec IP address and your computer IP address are in the same subnet, both have the network mask 255.0.0.0 and ther two IPs are different ?
Normally an ArtNet IP is 10.xxx.xxx.xxx ou 2.xxx.xxx.xxx with subnet mask 255.0.0.0.

I have the same problem with RGB strips. When i run the test from the Enttec, it sends R, G and B and the strips light in R, G and B but when i use the MadEqualizer or a video as the source my strips don't even light on. I have the latest version of Madmapper and Mountain Lion OS. My configuration: mackbook pro to the Enttec via ethernet (Artnet unicast protocol), Enttec to Dimmer via DMX and strips plugged into the dimmer (wich is the same as the one in the tutorial). I can't make it work. I only made it work with a mackbook pro from a friend running Madmapper 1.3.1 and Lion OS.
