    Artnet trouble.

    by Scandaniel » Wed Oct 02, 2013 12:42 pm

    Hi.

Im trying to control some LED-tubes through Madmapper.

I have set up everything as in the tutorial but it seams as though it won't transmit signal to the nodes I am using. Both have the same IP-address (192.168.0.182), Madmapper and network settings on my mac. It says its connected. We have tried two different nodes and two different licenses on Madmapper.

The fixtures are Multichrome LED-tubes 1x32 RGB.

    Is there anything Im missing?

You'll have to get into a little more detail. such as what type of equiptment you have going in between your comp and LEDs. Also any hardware troubleshooting you've done. To many variables to make an educated guess with the current information.

Your computer's IP address and the nodes should be different, but in the same range,
such as 192.168.0.xxx (where xxx is different in any device on your network).
You cannot have 2 identical ip in a network.
    Maybe that's your problem.

    Hi.

Of course it shouldn't have had the same IP-address, but the main error was that it was in the wrong IP-range,- it should have started with 2.

actually MM can send artnet values in any IP range.
However "pro" artnet boxes are hard coded in the 2.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x range, as stated in the artnet specs.
Most chinese cheap artnet boxes are in the 192.168.x.x range tho'
