100 bucks for a solution of addressable LED issue!!!

    by axistudio » Thu Apr 10, 2014 6:55 pm

i am nearly being drived crazy by the addressable led issue, we wanna to control each light in the strip with the effect like growing one by one, so we bought the led strip of WS2801 and WS2811 according to talking in the forum ,both 5V and 12V version of ws2801. and i fellow the steps from NateMac http://forum.garagecube.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=8817

and bought exactly same dmx decoder : http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product ... 79340.html.

and i am using a fake Enttec USB pro converter from china taobao.com: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z ... mm3h5ff6fd
When i finished all set up process, i could only light up the 5v version of ws2801 with only red light, and it just happened only one time. After the first trial, i could not even light the ws2801 up. That is so despairing!i have nearly spend 500 hundred dollars on this experiment but still no hopeful result.

So i am asking for sone one who can offer me an tutorial or solution about how to set up the led strip that could let me control the individual light individually on a led strip. If you could help me solve that problem, i could even pay you with 100 bucks as thanks!

are you using the same controller for both led strips??
sure that the controller configuration is right?
what is the "RCK" pin on the controller?

i had also many problems with my ws2812 at the beginning...
do you some cut somewhere? if yes put the first strip away and try from there.

First of all, the strip requires only 3 wires, you are using 4...

Data should be connected to D0. GND to GND then 5V to DC+.

    @.lov._
he has some ws2811 and some ws2801 strips
yes the ws2811 have 3, but the ws2801 have 4wires!
And the data connection has to be connected to "DI"!
