    spacial scanner with WXGA

    by 56north » Thu Aug 21, 2014 10:09 am

Hi - can anyone offer any advice re lenses and spacial scanner. I have a complicated structure to map and timing is an issue so spacial scanner would be ideal. I've successfully used this before but with a projector with 4/3 aspect ratio. This time I'm hoping to use 16/10 aspect ration projectors and having run some tests the scanner doesn't work so well. I assume this is a lens conflict between the camera and the projector. The projector has throw ratio 0.52:1 and lens F/2.8; f=7.017mm, Fixed Zoom - the camera is an EOS 550D with standard 18-55mm lens. Can anyone tell me - am I completely wasting my time going down this route or is it a simple matter of changing the camera lens to compensate. Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks

the lens of the camera has nothing to do with the projector lens, and won't affect your scan.
