LED Pixel Control

Hello,
i'm looking for help with my first LED project to control 12x1 meter segments of addressable LED Strips pixel by pixel with Madpapper/light.
i've discovered so far the WS2801, WS2812b and the WS2821 with DMX IC and some other Strips with direct DMX -
but really don't know which one delivers the best result for my purpose.
Should i use an USB to DMX - Artnet to DMX or Artnet to SPI Device ?
Which of these Strips could i control with Madmapper directly ?
Is also another decoder or dimmer necessary ?
