    Slow performance on new MacPro

    by vjspetto » Mon Nov 17, 2014 10:45 pm

    Hi,

I am testing MadMapper with six monitors attached, 1280x720 each in a New MacPro (the black trashcan) 3.5mhz, 6core, 32gb Ram, 2 * d500 videocards
Performance is really slow, about 12 fps.
My projectors config in MadMapper is: 5 output monitors
5 slices redirected to the 5 monitors.
When I turn off each of the monitors the performance goes a bit better.

    System is 10.9.5.
    Any ideas?

    what resolution?

if you're 6 times fullHD it makes a lot of pixels to handle…

Any specifications you can recommend if I would buy a new Mac Pro?
More Money to spend in CPU, GPU or RAM?

I'm working most of the time with modul8 and MadMapper with three HD Outputs and Madlight with 5 Universes live.

For Building constructions I work with C4D and After Effects CS 6.

    I have a MP 2xD700, 6 outputs (4x 1024*768 + 2x full HD), running off a 1400*2048 syphon, everything runs at a solid 30 FPS minimum.
Still, that's a lot of pixels ... ! Don't expect miracles (such as 60 FPS)
