    Artnet - Interface uninitialized

    by rhansen » Fri Jan 23, 2015 10:14 am

    Hey

I'm wanting to control some SGM LB100 balls via artnet, I've been supplied madrix but it's no where as good as I hoped. So hoping I can map in madmapper. They have artnet in / out, generally the signal chain is out of the ethernet port, into the SGM TLD612a. It's mapped in madrix, there are no extra artnet convertors or anything. I can't for the life of me get anthing to work... The only clue is on the "artnet unicast routing table" it says "artnet interface uninitialized"

I've set a manual IP to the same range as the SGM, I have selected the right intereface and tried to add the fixture in DMX output via ip.

    SGM:
    http://sgmlight.com/products/tld-612-a/c-23/p-194#
    http://sgmlight.com/products/lb-100/c-23/p-149

Any suggestions? Am i barking up the wrong tree...

    Thanks
    Ryan

First try with only one SGM.
Plug it directly to your computer using direct ethernet cable
    - don't go through a router for instance -

Before starting MAdMapper, make sure the ethernet connexion
has been established between your mac and your SGM:
go into system preferences/network : the Ethernet icon should turn green
(or the thunderbolt ethernet icon if you're using a Retina laptop)

Then open MadMapper, go into the preferences,
under the DMX Input section, make sure there's no Input Device selected ("none")
under the DMX output section, select ArtNet
    select your ethernet interface
(it should display your ethernet adapter with the right ip address, in the same range as your SGM , preferably 2.*.*.* or 10.*.*.*)
Make sure "Use Unicast" is unchecked.

You should be good to go...

Thanks for your reply. It's only running through a switch and that was just to make sure the cable wasn't too long.
Everything in the truck for the next few days, but will try one thing at a time and let you know how it goes.

    Cheers

    > "artnet interface uninitialized"

it means that you have not chosen the network interface to be used for sending ArtNet. Did you ?
