Constrain output proportions of a surface to input

Hi,
I am wondering whether it is possible to do this. I mean if I cut a part of my input image, the output does not reflect the proportions of the cut. Is there a way to do so.
To expain a little better, let's say I want to change the position of a logo on the projected video. If I cut the video on the original video, the output will not get the proportion of the cut, and I have to do it manually, without any information of the width-lenght etc.
Is this possible and I miss it ?
