    Sync problem with MadMapper 2.2

    by nlecaude » Fri Nov 13, 2015 5:25 pm

    Hello,

We have a project that involves 4x 1920x1200 videos in MPG2 format.
We want to fill a 4k screen with those 4 videos. The problem we encouter is that when we try to playback those videos, they will de-synchronize quite fast. I assigned keys to stop/play/rewind so I could start them all at the same time but they won't keep in sync. Is this to be expected ?

MPG2 cannot guarantee you a stable framerate - it might vary -
If your videos need to be in sync, I'd recommend compositing them all on one movie file, export in HAP or h264

    Ok thanks.

Had to switch to using Watchout instead of Madmapper for this specific project, no issues with sync with the latter.
Will pre-render the whole 4k videos in the future if we need sync with Madmapper.

    pre-render is a solution.
however, at least you should ensure that your videos have the exact same frame numbers, and FPS, and use HAP (10.10 minimum) or H264
