Projector not recognized

Hello,
Very new to this and been experimenting a bit with my small ViewSonic PJD 5155L projector (800x600). The problem im having is MM isn't recognizing the projector as an output destination. I tried connecting the projector before opening the program but to no avail. I'd really like to experiment a bit with some stuff in the office before going forward with spatial scanners.
Also, if this works, would I be able to view my output through the projector? Or would I have to go full screen and have guess work on the positions of my design like now?
I am using the demo version of MadMapper 3.0.3
Thank you for your help!

Are you using MadMapper on Windows or macOS?
When MadMapper isn't running, are you able to use the projector as a standard display: see the desktop and mouse cursor?

Ok, so the projector works as a standard display on Windows but it isn't listed as an output in MadMapper?

I'm assuming your projector is directly connected to your graphic card through HDMI right?

Are you sure you "extend to" this display in Windows display settings ? Do they appear as separated screens in Windows or as a copy of the other screen ?

Yeh, ive used projectors before so it was already set up as two separate screens. I'm also having the issue on my mac laptop with a different projector so I am hoping it is something that I am personally doing wrong.
EDIT;
On my mac it is working but I still have the issues on windows

Please advise which projector to purchase from these two options:
VIEWSONIC PJD7822HDL or Acer P1500
In the first version
, assessment of black is very confusing; is it better in Acer?
I need a clear picture to watch a movie in a white but darkened room from a distance of 2.4 meters and a screen width of no more than 1.6 meters.
Thanks.

It depends on your setup. We don't know all hardware. Other users might help.
My suggestion, since they are supposed to have the same resolution & lumens & opening, would be to go for the one with the highest contrast (better black), so the Viewsonic one. On the object lifetime I have no idea which is better.
