Digital Strips - Favorite Control

I have been playing around with the digital strip game for a minute. The good old WS2812: https://www.adafruit.com/datasheets/WS2812.pdf
I am looking to find a better way to control more of them at once. As noted in this great tutorial, the Arduino devices are good for proof of concept but not huge runs. http://www.madmapper.com/2015/09/30/ard ... apper-2-1/
Are there any off the shelf ways to do this? The Analog LED tutorial was great because everything had nice to ports to just plug, address, and play.
