We just recovered from a hugely successful biannual Splore festival on this side of the planet. Without a doubt the best festival in New Zealand / Aotearoa and we're all really happy with how the design worked out -





On the main electronic/DJ stage we made a 13m wide boxed structure. Using Madmapper, Quartz Composer and a bunch of thunderbolt based gear we managed a dynamic mapping system that allowed for pre-produced content and a normal VJ set via an HD vision mixer. This is a really nice idea that will become a visual extravaganza. This setup looks really easy to make and so I am sure many people will replicate this. It is sure to bring some improvised techniques and visual displays.
