    FPS Display

    by CaseyJScalf » Tue Nov 27, 2018 5:14 am

I am not sure if there is a better, more robust way to calculate this, but I feel it would be handy to have some sort of realtime FPS display in MM so that you could see if the performance was laggy, running super fast, etc.

A lot of the time we are pushing the limits of how many displays, surfaces, interactions, etc, we are using and it would be great to have feedback on if we are operating close to the edge, etc.

Any tips on low overhead programs that might do this better for PC or Mac would be appreciated!

on mac, type this onto your terminal, then relaunch MM:
    defaults write com.garagecube.MadMapper logFPS 1

set it back to 0 to remove fps

on windows type in command prompt:
    REG ADD HKCU\SOFTWARE\Garagecube\MadMapper /f /v logFPS /t REG_SZ /d 1

at any time you can reset mm to factory defaults, in the file menu

I've been looking for this feature for years and I am very stoked that a simple terminal command will display it. Would be killer to have it as a native option in MM.
