    Quicktime Capture as Input

    by lotech » Sat Oct 29, 2011 9:47 am

I'd like to see Quicktime Capture as an option in the future.
We have a new i7 based Mac Mini and ideally I'd like to use it as a dedicated mapping machine.
VJ's could VJ to a mixer (in our case a BM ATEM 1/ME) @ 720 or 1080 and then use a thunderbolt based Intensity Extreme to take that feed and run straight into Madmapper. The current solution is to have a copy of Modul8 running along with MadMapper but this isn't ideal if you don't need Modul8 for any reason other than to take the capture device and send via Syphon.

I think I may have got this working via Quartz composer. Currently getting a 720P50 feed via a Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D through Quartz into MadMapper. Seems to have little to no processing delay. Can now dedicate our output mini as the final processor and let our laptops doing the heave playback job.
I'll post a Composer file and tutorial soon.
