non rectangular quads needed

Dear MadMapper crew

We are really missing non-rectangular quads (like in millumin).
It is great to have masks inside traditional quads but it is not the same since the control points stays in the corner of the traditional quad making it hard to map easy.
So (to repeat myself again) we humbly ask for non-rectangular quads :-)

Cheers,
Søren

I don't really get it ...
Do you want to extend your quad beyond its borders while keeping the perspective ?

Hi Franz

What I mean is the ability to make irregular quadrilateral surfaces too

It would be so handy instead of having to create two triangular surfaces or a quad with a mask inside (harder to adjust fast and good).

Cheers,
Søren

I see this request come up a lot...

MM already has the capability of making custom non-rectangular (and non-quadrilateral) selections by using the "show input mesh" feature. Turn this button on in the quad surface controls and you can change the shape of your input selection to your heart's content.

thanks for the tip -
It took me quite a while to find that option since it was under 'mesh warping'.
But it works as expected and with the flexibility I was looking for as long as I use the warp points for adjusting in the output view.
Awesome :-)

@franz - let me rephrase my petition - Although it works as needed it would be lovely if custom non-rectangular / and non-quadrilateral surfaces could have a their own surface definition (instead of a quad surface with mesh warp and adjusted input mesh activated )

Cheepers :-)
