    NDI output support

    by TheYouth » Sun Jun 18, 2017 11:03 pm

NDI output from Madmapper would be great!

I know there is "Spout to NDI" and "Syphon to NDI", but these costs a lot of CPU power. If it can be done directly in MadMapper, I hope it´s less CPU hungry. NDI seems to get an bigger player in the professional world day by day...

Thank you Franz. I saw that and it supports alpha which is great!

Is NDI output (both YUV and RGBA) on your radar as well? This would make integrating Madmapper in larger cross-platform setups a breeze so I'm hoping it is?

it is on the radar, indeed, but NDI output is more complicated, as the image has to go back from GPU to CPU then through network.
So far performances are not amazing at HD resolution.

Will NDI|HX make this easier to handle?

Great and thank you for the update! Will it be the full NDI protocol with both audio & video?

    Hey guys,
so in the actual version of mm you use version 3.5 of the ndi sdk? Today I had a talk at ISE in Amsterdam with the guys of newtek, they told me that in older versions they had problems with the syncing mechanism if a network also use Dante streams (Audinate). So is it possible to implement the newest SDK, it's 3.8 now? It would also be interesting to get some options like select tcp or udp streams, also multicast configurations would be interesting. I know you have a long todo list, I just wanted to mention it. Thanks!
