no deep testings, but qt 7.5.5 and modul8 2.5.7 seems to work correctly

Well there is a question also, what good this upgrade will do. This usual "recommended to all users" is a really old joke told way too many times.

I updated modul8 and quicktime and somehow modul8 reacts very slow and won't do anything anymore....

when I startup Modul8 it uses 95% of my processor... sometimes it won't react....

Can anyone help please?!

Important note for users of Mac OS X 10.5.x
Because Mac OS X 10.5 uses more memory then the previous system version it is recommended for users who have less than 4 gigabytes installed to change the preferences under the 'medias' tab. Set the value in the field "Start releasing medias when Modul8 uses more then % of the full memory:" to between 60 or 70%.

Hello David.

I finaly found out what the problem was.

I think it has nothing to do with quicktime and/or M8.

It was the IAC MIDI driver. If I turn it on and start up M8 (just launching the app, not loading a project or anything) M8 is responding very slow. I think IAC is giving a lot of MIDI data which slowsdown M8....

UPDATE:
I used Midi Monitor to check the midi in- and outputs. IAC is doing nothing but at the moment M8 is loaded there is a midi action. hundreds of data per second... so thats the reasing m8 is slowing down.

The problem is that i use the BCF2000 module with my BCF 2000. But when i'm starting up M8 without the BCF conected to the computer and the module is ON, it wil use the IAC Midi driver to send the MIDI data... and that's not working at all!

So problem solved. Thanx anyway
