That's right. Those white pixels are not in the original image however. They seem to be added by Modul8. (To be precise: Modul8 seems to give any pixel that is not totally transparent a white background. The circle in the original image is slightly blurred on the edges, giving it an outline of semi transparent pixels, which Modul8 then renders whitish.)
The workaround in this case, in order to get rid of the white pixels on my black background, was to invert the image in Photoshop and then invert it again in Modul8. That makes the unwelcome outline black instead. But I get no real pixel transparency.
