you are supposed to record... and then when you are finish you go in the record menu and render your final recording. If you are wondering why there is no file created when you press record.

yes, there are two types of record, logical record and record to disk. If you press the "big" record button you just record what you do and then you have to render your recording to have a file. The record to disk records directly what you're doing but it uses more CPU so it's slower...
And at last, the "small" record button is like the big one but only for the active layer and to playback after, not to have a file

but read the documentation, there's something about it, garagecube dodn't build this documentation for nothing

Thank you for your concerns. I understand how it works. And i do as you, and the manual suggests. Its quite straightforward. But still, nothing will be rendered when i do a Logical record or recorded when i do a record to disc.

Please can you describe exactly what you do.

    - Did you open the "Render Logical" or the "Direct to Disk" panel ?
    - What codec did you use ?
    - What resulation ?
    - What frame rate ?
    - Did you specify a path and filename for the output movie ?

    Yves.

    1. recorded a logical record at the master panel.
    2. set it to play
    3. Selected logical record
    4. resolution 512x384, apple animation
    5. sets a path for saving file
    6. hits render
    7. Nothing happens

Hmmm... that's weird. Please could you check the console (/Applications/Utilities/Console) and see if anything is written.

What version of the Mac OS X are you using ?

    Thanks!

    AAAh. It works.
I changed the saving path from a map inside documents to the deskboard? (guess you dont call it that in english, its called "skrivbord" in Swedish)
    Some bug about the path??
Anyhow im happy now. Thanks for a great program!

Ok we identified the problem, this is a problem with paths containing accents (like éàè etc...)

We will fix it for the next minor release.

In the meantime dont use a path with accents for your logical render
PS: This problem does not concern a file project but only the logical render.
