    Preview Panel not full-size

    by stivo » Fri Nov 26, 2010 9:48 pm

    I'm VJing on 1920*1080P

My Final output is fine, but my preview panel only shows 50% of the output. So i see my final image zoomed..

    How does this come?

    Here my Advanced Output screenshot:

    Here the preview screenshot:

I think its to do with the default size for M8 which is 640 x 480 - you have it set to 1920 x 1080
do you actually need to use advanced output?

    Same problem if advanced output,
But when i don't use the Advanced output, my output comp is also to small so not 1920x1080....

set the preview to 16:9 in the preferences.
set the output monitor size in Mac OSX system preferences/displays

    turn advanced output off.
try the normalise option in the scale

all that tried before, non of them works.
Normalize makes it even worse, comp is filled about 75% with black border.

thats ok. set it as I said and
now try the scale, -not using the slider but the numeric value just above the slider. bump it up to 3

Thnx for you're reply, I know there is a scale function, but i don't want to use this function since I'm going to mix multiple layers.
This is a extra handling I don't prefer.

I'm wondering why Modul8 doesn't play 1920x1080P images correctly on my preview.

well, I've explained how to do it if you want to mix HD footage.
get one layer correct, then duplicate it as many times as you need.
M8 was originally designed for SD video, you are going to have to make some adjustments to run HD. thats all there is to it.
