    live capture: input select

    by fons » Mon Jul 25, 2005 1:37 am

    hi all,

i want to use live capture from video with my Miglia AlchemyTV card. unfortunatly Modul8 always takes input from TV, and there seems to be no driver settings dialog to select the composite input. setting input with AlchemyTV software before starting Modul8 doesn't make a difference, Modul8 always selects TV.

how can i set these driver setting for Modul8?
    thanks,
    fons

Hmmm... currently Modul8 uses the default settings. I'm not sure how you can select a different input using the Alchemy card. Usually how do you select the input ? Do you have a preferences panel ?

    hi yves,

normal procedure is to open a driver settings dialog from within the VJ software, where one can select his preferred input. so this driver setting panel is somehow missing in Modul8 ...

on the other hand, normally i can set an input with the Alchemy software itself before starting up my Vj software, and usually the previously selected input is automatically used in the VJ software also.

if Modul8 has no driver settings for live capture and uses the "system default input" - do you know a way how to set the system default then? there is nothing in the preferences, and i can't think of any switch i know that does handle default video input settings for the os ...

    thanks for your help

Hmmm... Not really. we don't have an Alchemy card, so it is hard to say...

    thanks, yves

for now i've decided to forget about taking the g4 tower (with alchemy card) to the gig and take my tibook again. will attach the DFG/1394 and feed Modul8 from that. but this way i can't add live input to the 2nd notebook, as i only have 1 DFG and DV is too slow ...

maybe you could think about adding a video driver setting dialog to the next version of Modul8?

    greetz, fons
