M8 output blank during the show. Then total crash.

    Hi.
I have had system crashing 3 times during the show. At one point the output will be blank, but I can see output preview on my computer. Then clicking around franticly will freeze the whole machine. Second time I restarted M8, but it hung again in few moments.
It could be coding problems. I use two kinds of clips (all short 1-5 sec). Ones I film direct in QT PhotoJPG, others are conversions from mpeg2 to PhotoJPG.
I have brand new MBP with the max specs Tiger QT latest update. I experience some problems with MBP, but have not have time to give it to the shop yet. So it may be something hardware related.
So before I start to re-encode I would like to know how well it solve the problems and since I will batch encode I may go for h.264 instead? I do not do much scratching and with my new MBP this option is usable. And do I lose anything by re-encoding?
And final thought - how about to upgrade to Leo? Is it really worth other than Quartz support.

I had a show last night and the same happened again in the end.
I was triggering clips in two layer sets and fading between the sets. When I made a mistake and triggered wrong clip and tried to correct it, but ended doing many miss clicks franticly the output went blank and system non responding. Restarting Modul did not solve anything this time, so I had to restart MBP.
Maybe if I had time to wait until the problems were sorted out it would have started to work, but in 2 minutes all stay frozen.
I could use other programs and Modul>File>Save or Quit opens, but does not function.
Does anybody have experienced this, when rapidly triggering clips?

Happened to me last night... Modul8 totally crashed. But... i don't think it is a triggering-clips issue. i'm used to make very fast clip switching... sometimes even 120-130bpm with a triggering per-beat... 2 triggers per seconds.maybe you need to re-encode your clips in something more lightweight... seems a problem with ram release time or the impossibility to do it... or even... where your clips are stored? Internal MBP hd? beacause if you have a lot of heavy clips 5400rpm could be too slow to keep the rythm with the load-release ram times. I'm only guessing...

Actually for that show i re-encoded al my clips. So that should not be it. But I do use internal 5400 rpm HDD. I am going to get 7200 one soon. Then again my clips are mostly 1-3 sec loops and coming from Lumix compact camera in QT photoJPG codec and run usually very smooth.
I feel it will be almost impossible to put a finger on the cause. It never happens during prep work and at the show so much going on...
