Bitstream 3x that i got a bit back to control a channel strip/plugin setup in Logic, for live acoustic instrument mutation (no looping/delay TYVM). Works like a dream! Except the sliders & joystick are cheap & loose like my last girlfriend. Right now i'm making a show (playing jan 18! crikey!) showcasing some art (Sharon Warden, great but not commercial) with a dancer and a friend playing an 'altered birds' on keyboard and 'ocean' on dk-10, both also through Logic (birds via kontakt). I am plum out of computers to run modul8 at the same time, so I'm recording the visuals first to dvd recorder (via scan converter- i have this thing for riding the CPU edge). I still want to make the NuVJ control Modul8 without having to think about too many computations. I like sitting back and twiddling knobs for a show-- sure beats playing an instrument until my lips bleed.

The truth- i open up the module editor and haven't the first idea where to begin. I've tried a few things, they haven't worked. I'm just a musician, hey? I got a hand-me-down g4 powerbook 3 years ago. Things were fine for a while, now its mushrooming out of control. I'm taking a basic scriptwriting / web development class at my local community college to catch up a bit. So, i'm taking a break from trying to learn this until i have more context. Might even put together a page and get some content out there.

I'll need a quality skillset in case i have to escape the usa, which seems increasingly likely. Subnote to the world-- stop sending the usa your oil. We have maybe moved beyond the point of being able to help ourselves. Where are you from, V-P? How's the rent?

Anyway, i wish Modul8 had some kind of controller customization sub-structure, like MainStage (a good idea with much farther to go).

Anyway, coffee. Most important meal of the day. Get it while you can- and don't forget to tip. We're all in this together.

    cheers, jay

Did you read the manual ? There are some basic tips about module editor. The visual part is easily changed, so you can optimize space of each module you need. It is really usefull if you have a lot of modules.
About scripting it is more dificult but if you know other programming language you'll understand easily basic program.
    RTFM ! RTFM ! again !

What are you thinking exactly ? What is it for ?

What is MainStage ? (is it a software ?)

Actually do you need Nuvj module in m8 ? Have you got time to work on it ?

I am enrolled in a class to learn basic programming- javascript, etc. I don't really understand enough about how programs are structured to know how to fit in custom/customized parts, eh? I've become pretty efficient with some of the music software, doing some pretty specific things. Tutorials have been mighty helpful to me.

A Web page? Sharing musical projects in a more efficient way with friends (MP3s are terrible. I am done with them.), and of course wooing a deep-pocketed corporate sponser.

because the usa is founded on genocide, and in the long run bad things happen to nations founded on genocide. its already starting. its very weird here.
What is MainStage ? (is it a software ?)

an application bundled with Logic 8 for running live instruments. very versatile MIDI mapping, but not very useful to me yet..
    gotta go, thaks for talkie

Yes i need it- only because its a hassle to dismantle and re-mantle my gear when i want to make visual content; no, i haven't got time now.

Because the US is so crazy now, i've decided i might as well run for president- my platform, More Time For Everyone! One Hour is Now Two! 13-Day Weeks for the Masses! I think i could go pretty far with that, if i can get that slow-motion machine working. Also, i will dismantle the mini-malls. Have you heard of mini-malls? Most of the US looks depressingly similar these days.

    fare thee well

    Way Off Topic

Way Off Topic! But oh well.

United States America is, and will be for awhile, in the driver seat. Our country is built on the people other countries did not want and killer f.... ideas. Our liberal leaders have convinced the world that people are bad and all their actions are making it warm. Our current leadership says "That is not true". This make the rest of the world believe it more. The rest of the world has spent the last 70 years chasing oil and American Pop Culture. If the Dems can keep people thinking people are bad and green is the only way, then we will be oil free and on top for another 70 years as our sister country, California, has the lead in this green thing.

Like it or not unless you have lots of VJ money saved up the best country to move to is the USA. That is unless you want to be a VJ. Then maybe look at Europe. Just don't expect it to be easy as most other countries in the world don't take kindly to you moving there, that is of course unless you got the paper.

Modul8 rules. Most other programs blow
    Mac rules. Most others blow.
    Projectors Rule. Beamers blow.

Man I hope this forum doesn't devolve into a Flamebait pissing war. I check for updates several times a day and actually learn something about my favorite software.

apologies. i don't get out much except to party, much less use this 'web' thing. V-P has actually helped me quite a bit through this thread, (thanks!) and tolerated my conversational quirks. haven't heard jack from numark.

i'll delete my incosequentials later. thanks for backing me on the 'weird', tho
