What is exactly the model of your Imac G5 (ref.) ?

    Thanks.

sorry, after completing the gig i had a ton of other stuff to work on...
i have an iMac G5 revB, 2GB ram, 64MB GeForce 5200 Gfx card.when i run M8 i shut down all other apps. so i checked the memory as per your suggestions. there was still about 25MB available in RAM even with all clips loaded. however i found no explanation for why at first i was able to load in all clips with no red dots and suddenly i had red dots all over the place. (i had been working on that set for 2 days using 320*240 files with no problems)

so as stated above i ditched the project and started over. i re-assembled all 7 sets individually by loading only those clips needed for per set and saving a project file per set instead of all clips for all sets into one huge project file. this seemed to do the trick and i had no problems live.

i never did try and rebuild the "all sets in one project" setup since i was running out of time and paranoid that i would have to start over again if the project file became corrupted as the previous one had. that cost me 2 days...

    cheers
