FLASH files not working (media not supported)

    by cutup » Fri Nov 03, 2006 3:26 am

I installed modul8 (fantastic app) some time ago, after the fresh install everything worked fine and I could load (and play) flash files. Now, for some unknown reason the same files won't load on Modul8 (media not supported), though they play perfectly using Quicktime. I guess an update screwed up something. I've tried everything already: installing and reinstalling Quicktime, Modul8, Flash Player, fixing permissions, etc... nothing helped. There must be a glitch somewhere though I have no idea where & how to fix it. Some user(s) experiencing the same annoying problem? Thanx in advance.

(just for the record: the files are flash 5, uncompressed... and with the right extension)

Sorry not to give you a solution! :(

Yes it seems that it is related to a system update. We are trying to figure out what's going out here...

Apple decided to turn off by default Flash support in Quicktime since the V7.1.3.

However you can turn it on in the system preferences:

Go to the Quicktime section, and under the advanced tab, select "Enable Flash".

We plan to stop using QT to play back Flash in future version of Modul8. This will solve this issue and improve the performances.
