    6 screens

    by THC » Fri Jan 26, 2007 4:57 pm

    Hi there all
    First post here :D
    The deal.
I have a gig coming soon, i want to have 6 screens line up next to the other, the idea is to have foot step prints walking across all the screens.
Is there a way to have the steps starting on one screen and walk all the way to the end? TH2go?
How do i need to set up my system with M8. Will buy a MacPro soon.
    Any inputs very welcome

You need a mac pro with 4 output cards (2 output per card) and you can use the motion path module.Use the "advanced output setup" to place your screens You'll need to have a good configuration with big RAm (at least 4 or 5 giga). Then go !!

you can use good resolutions for pictures or graphics .I guess a resolution of 6144x768 wouldn't be a pb for a mac pro with good RAM. You must be careful for high resolution movies. You can play a high resolution movie (HD for ex) but you may get into trouble while adding more layers to the HD one(the movies will run slower).

If your'e a good editor you could do what you want using only one output. You need to make a loop where the left hand side of the scrren fuses well with the right hand side, so that a foot walking out of frame from the left, walk into frame from the right. then you need to route the same signal to all your projectors. It would look like lots of similar feet, either a huge human centipede or a quind of army marching shot.

Actually I would put the seem of the frame not at edge of the frma but down the centre. It's easier to make it martch like that. I'm sure this makes no sense, but I can see a cheaper, but not simpler way to do your trick.
