i use a powerbook g4 167 with a 64mb graphics card, and 1.5gb ram. What are the numbers for memory usage i should put on the preferences menu in order to get better performance?

Most my clips are 640x480 30fps around 200MB in size.

First, which version of modul8 are you using? Secondly, how many of your clips do you usually use and in which format?

using version 2.5.2

clips: load 8 layers at a time, they are .mov photo-jpeg codec

I've noticed in 2.5.2 that it loads some medias uncompressed into RAM - take a look in your media inspector and set the medias to load compressed/from disk. Hopefully this will be resolved in 2.5.3.
