    CI Image Units

    by ylandsman » Tue Mar 06, 2007 12:40 am

Can third party core image image units be used with modul8? If so, how do I activate them? I have tried with the plugin file in the /Library/Graphics/Image Units/ directory, and I have tried putting the plugin file in the modul8 plugin directory. Neither seem to work, although with the plugin in the /Library... directory they are recognizable in quartz composer.

Yyves, Boris, can either one of you give me the word on this, I would love to add some new image units, but don't want to purchase them until I know that m8 can support them.

Well you should be able to use external ImageUnits. Modul8 simply asks CoreImage for the available filters, so it is 100% dynamic.

Now please note that Modul8 does not support filters with more than one source (yet).

Did you see it in other applications (like QuartzComposer) ?

    Yves.

Yes I did, I'll go back and make sure that the filter was one source

You are right there is a problem with the current version of Modul8 regarding external filters. It will be fixed in the next release.
