Hi there,
How can I know if my computer has one video output or two. I go mad to set the full screen mode on the second screen to keep on using the M8 user interface but it does not work at all. Full screen mode cover the user interface and the only way to mix is through my MIDI Contr.
I work with a i-book G4 1,33 Ghz (external desk opt enable)

Hi may, it sounds from what you say as if you have used the 'dual-screen hack' to enable the extended desktop feature on your iBook -

(external desk opt enable)

if not you will need to do so.

Once this is enabled you will need to plug your video adapter, the vga one or the s-video-rca, into your iBook in order to 'turn-on' the second screen - you don't need anything attached (although it helps ) but without it plugged in only mirroring i.e. the output covering the M8 interface, will be possible. You may need to go into Display Preferences and 'Turn Off Mirroring' at first.

Then do 'command-U' from within M8 and your output will go to the second screen leaving the M8 interface on your iBook screen.

To change preferences open Display Preferences from within System Preferences & different preference windows should appear on both iBook and video output.
There is a useful check box to 'Show displays in menu bar' which I find quick and easy to have access to in moments of need.

Click 'Arrangement' and position the second display where you like it, I find having it on the right of my main display is good.
In the Display Preferences for your second, video output, amongst other settings that may help you, go to 'Options' and click on 'Best for Video' and 'Overscan'.

To edit your second display preferences more easily if the projection screen is miles away click 'Gather Windows' - you should then see both these preference windows on your iBook screen. You will need to be using Tiger to have this 'Gather Windows' option.

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes I have done all of that and still am not able to get full screen mode on my second screen. I have connected my computer to both directly a projector and a video mixer to a projector and no luck.
Second screen mode enable with all its settings done right. Only way to mix is through my Midi without a visual feedback and with all that means in terms of performance.
Any other idea you might have?
