I am sizing up several options for a multiscreen A/V mixing system. Competitors in the Denver Area are using a Folsom Encore Hardware interface to mix multiple live feeds + graphics / etc out to multiscreens (http://video.folsom.com/products/?index=1085530137_4734) . Nice setup but the pricetag is hefty about $80K. The big advantage with the Folsom is the harware screen blending that it does.
Q #1 - Is there anyway to blend the edges of multiscreen output in M8? Is there a possibility of including some rudimentary screen blending in future releases?
Q#2 - I need Multi-feed input. I am debating the purchase of a Multibridge Extreme (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/multibridge/)
The Multibridge Extreme ives multiple Ananlog / SDI inputs. I have heard good reviews about near-realtime processing with the Decklink Cards .. What about Multiple inputs?
A typical setup would be 3 x 10K Lumen projectors side by side edge blended for a widescreen Mainstage presentation. Image magnification of the speaker set PIP on 2 sides of the screen with logos/animation running in Center + a widescreen backdrop.
Ony diference I see between an $80K folsom and M8 is the screen edging/screen blending functionality of the Folsom Encore. ... They do make a Blender though (http://video.folsom.com/products/?index ... 5816_16587) . Perhaps that could work out of the box w M8 and a multi output MacPro.
Any thoughts from users / M8 engineers?
