hi, is it possible to output eight different sound channels with eight different video channels? if so, what do i need to do this?

if you read each question you'll notice they're quite different:

one: can't get more than five channels of video to play at once because of the scaler.. this has been answered

two: is is possible to output eight different channels of audio WITH eight different channels of video.. to output to eight separate speakers?

three: how do i get my eight different channels to begin playing in sync, and to they remain in sync on a loop?

sorry for taking up extra space on the forum with these three questions, but each one is so small and specific that i thought it would be answered faster separately. also i am working to a very tight deadline and only need to know these basic things. hope you can still help!

Hi,
it is possible. I playback 5.1 surround videos for some events. It is not modul8 that handle this feature, it is quicktime and OS X.

If you encode the audio of any quicktime in AAC, you can have up to 8 channels. Then in quicktime player, you assign you audio channels to the desired outputs (in the movie properties).

Plug-in your multi-output audio device and open the audio/midi setup (in the utilities folder). Select your device, then click on the configure speakers button. Now in the multichannel section, select the kind of output you want. For 8 channels, use Octagonal or 7.1.
