Assign a layer to an output

    by bratch » Wed Oct 03, 2007 12:08 pm

    Here is my question :
Would it be possible to assign one or several layers to an output of the videocard (clip in the multi output setup). By ex,
Layer 1 and 2 go to clip one
Layer 3 go to clip 2
Layer 4,5 and 6 go to clip 3
That would be juste great. :D

yo can move your layer to the correct position ten if you change the media of the layer, it will change at the same place

yes but if you have several beamers, on several screens, i'd really need this. It's better for the composition cause actually, i could do a similar thing by positionning my clips (output if you prefer) side by side, and putting the layers i need on each clip. But i'd rather have all my clips with the same position, but with assigned layers. Don't know if i'm clear enough...?

If i read what you're saying correctly you want layer 1+2 to output to videocard 1, layers 3+4 to videocard 2 and layers 5+6 to videocard 3

I dont think thats possible, its all about layer positioning when using multi output cards rather than assigning layers to outputs

yes, i know it's not possible actually, but i hope this could be on next version. It's a wish for M8 V 3 !
It would be great to assign any layer to any card.

well you can use the default layer module, or wirte a module to position each layer to a specific place then use the advanced output setup to match outputs to each region
