Multiple preview/output with a standard Macbook Pro

Hello.

I've been for hours trying to fathom this out and can't.

Basically I have my MBP setup so that it is connected to a TV/Projector.

I fullscreen the output and the preview window (the top one of the 3) disappears onto the second display. The problem I have is I now only have the single window of video on my Macbook screen with which I have to select either the layer I am prepping or the output.

Is there a way to have the output that goes to the 2nd display mirrored on the desktop without needing to select 'out' on the single remaining video window.

It seems like common sense that I should be able to see the final output and whatever I am planning to mix into it at the same time on a single screen.

I guess I could run a small monitor off the unused s-video of the DVI/Video Adapater, but I don't have the budget for one at the moment, nor the time with my first m8 gig this weekend. Also I feel I shouldn't need to.

I've searched the forums for a workaround but have come up with nothing.

Can anyone help? Maybe someone has developed a module for this? Cause the current setup means I have to flick between 'out' and 'layer or group' rather than being able to see both at the same time.

It wouldn't be that much of an issue if I could see the projector at the same time and use that as a monitor but the setup in the club means I am 90 degrees I think.

Here's hoping someone has a solution.

Cheers. :D

Maybe there is a way using the Advanced Output functions. Which I really don't understand at this point.

I can get another output, output2, on the projector/TV but it is really small. Rather than being at 640x480. Which is the video resolution and what the projector/TV has been set to.
