    Problems installing demo

    by chromafresh » Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:31 pm

I'm trying to give a friend a test-drive installing the Modul8 1.1 demo, and we can't get it to work.
His Python and BSD installations are the same as mine, and my copy of the demo works fine. The software seems to start launching and stops on the splash screen. The interface doesn't appear at all. Starting a new file doesn't solve it either.

He is using a 800Mhz 15" Powerbook and system 10.3.7 with QT6.5. I believe he has 1000MB of RAM.

    Please advise! Thanks!

Please note that Modul8 V1.1 does not run on a system with a two bytes unicode language set by default in the OS X preferences. Maybe that's your problem ?

    Can't install

    Hey Yves,
Thats probably the problem. In fact I'm sure it is... ah well.
Will this change with further versions? Japanese users are almost all using the Japanese system with 2-byte characters and reinstalling the system to English and asking them to use the English system could be a bottleneck.

Yes... This is a known ugly bug of the V1.x. It is fixed in the V2.0.
