crossfade sound glitch

I have been mixing music videos using the crossfader. I slow them down and then crossfade back and forth rapidly. There were no problems until today when suddenly, the sound output glitches, and I lose sound completely. It seems to be happening when I adjust the master speed. But this never happened before when I was doing the exact same thing. Does anyone know what the problem and solution is?
