V2.5.4 Layer/Media Issue

Whenever I open up a saved project, every layer that is active opens as the clip from Media Set 1, Media ID:1. This also happens when I duplicate a layer. Instead of a copy of the layer, the new layer is the clip in Media ID:1.
Can anyone suggest a solution plesae?

Just read that someone else had this problem and it was to do with the 'slideshow' module. I'm not using that module so.....er....anything else?

As I said in the post you mentioned, it can come from a module, try to "pause" every modules to see if it comes from any of your active modules

did you solved the problem with the swapping Media when duplicate a layer ?
because since last update (2.5.6) i got the same problem.
also i paused every open module ... its the same.
in case somebody figure it out... please let me know.
