    Matrox Dualhead 2 Go + iBook G4?

    by JoelDittrich.se » Thu May 15, 2008 2:38 pm

    Hi!

    I´m planning to use:

    - iBook G4 + Tiger 10.4.11 + QT 7.4.5 (mid 2005, 1.42 Ghz, 1 gig ram, ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 with 32Mb ram)
    - Screen spanning Doctor
    - Modul8 2.5
    - Matrox Dualhead 2 Go

Did anybody try this set up?
Think my GPU is to bad/slow?
Maybee it works if I set the rez kind of low, like 1280x480? (all content is 320x240)

    Thanks!

    Their site: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/p ... o/home.php

Anyway, guess this will be to heavy since:

    "Supported Display Modes
    Resolution Refresh rate
    2048 x 768 60, 75, 85Hz
    2560 x 10241 60Hz"

...because it would make M8 work in 2048 x 768?!

you'll find the more vram you have the better the TH2go works. 32 is not a lot at all.
codec and hard drive also affects playback..
I use apple intermediate codec and have a f/w 800 external drive for my clips.
sadly you can't upgrade the Vram on apples.

    Hi Gary,

what advantage would you say does the apple intermediate codec have?

I tested it and I aways have to come back to MotionJPG or PhotoJPG…

    Cheers,
