Sound analysis stops calculating low/mid/high bands

Sound analysis works for a while. Then at some point a few minutes later, low mid and high bands stop being generated. Sound response in "LEVEL" mode works, but "MID FQ" doesn't The Sound Analysis window showed bouncing green OSX standard GUI meters for the three bands. Once the analysis stops working, those meters disappear completely from the GUI... it stops rendering even the empty grey meter.
Observed in 3.1.3 and 3.1.4
At the moment I am setting up "Loopback" to internally route audio from other apps into M8. I have the "Loopback Audio" device set at system input. I was doing sound analysis on built-in microphone a month ago and didn't observe this problem, so there may be something special about this which is triggering the M8 bug?
