korg nanokontrol2 sliders reversed

i'm having an odd problem. a few years ago, i switched to an akai controller, moving away from the nanokontrol. today i bought a fresh nanokontrol, as i missed the tiny size.

i went to map the sliders, and slider 1 and 8 both seem to be reversed. as in, i push the slider up, and the fader in modul8 goes down. push the slider down, and the fader goes up. sliders 2-7 work as normal, its just 1 & 8 that work in reverse.

i have tried it on two different computers, one running yosemite, the other running mojave, both on modul8 3.1.6. blank/new projects in both.

did i do something simple, or is this controller just defective?

it was honestly so confusing that it had to be a bad controller. made sure to post the follow up in case anyone else encounters this!

I have such a problem. I bought this device, but it refuses to work (((
I have win 7 on a laptop. I installed all the necessary drivers. At the first connection, the sequencer saw the controller, but literally after 10 seconds, the sequencer lost the controller and that's it.

My beech does not see this. It is not even determined by the software that comes with it - KOrg kontrol Editor.

Repeatedly reinstalled the controller software. Useless (((

However, on a neighboring prehistoric computer with XP, the controller works ...

Who is to blame and what to do ))) :(
