Thank you again for the feedback and you patience.

    Best,

I think it works well on MBP owerall and eventually will improve as it has so far. I have had no regrets for both purchases.

As long as you don't go down the VJ tunnel there will always be light.

I have not have crashes. But again I am using very short loops 1-3sec. I can get system lock up if I try to change clips too fast. Like when you correct a mistake in a hurry. And usually with certain encoded movs.
So if you know the limitations of you system you can do a lot in these frames.

well, I did an 8 hour gig this weekend.
as usual, M8 locked the whole system about 2 hours into the show, while doing some chromakey.
strangely it then ran fine for the remaining 6 hours?

    now I am confused.

Gary, I think I see an explanation. If you're confused modul8 doesn't crash which is handy because if it did it would make you even more confused.

big thanks for the new update.
I can now go back to doing shows instead of wondering when to panic.

ok, have read on these forums as much as possible about problems and fixes with MBP + Leopard...one last check...I am currently running

    MBP 2gb, 2.33 GHz core 2 duo
    Tiger 10.4.9
    Quicktime 7.3

I have been terrified of upgrading anything for ages as I have live shows every week and
can't afford to have equipment problems (ok I could go back to the fairlight and video feedback if desperate but prefer M8 :) )

however i have some new plugins that I want to use that only work on 10.5...so I'll have to upgrade..

so...upgrading to latest version of leopard and QT 7.5.5
whilst running SMC Fans and releasing my M8 memory at 60%...means I will have no forseeable problems?

many thanks in advance for answers

It should be fine. I run Leopard 8 months without serious problems. QT I hate to upgrade without knowing the necessities.
Do a backup all of your system like using Carbon Copy Cloner. If you run into problems restore your previous state of your computer.

thanks for the tip (carbon cloner).

for some reason I just assumed that you would have to upgrade quicktime if you went to leopard?
