Hi Everyone,

sometimes when I activate some Photoshop clips they just look like a box that is all frapped out. Only thing that seems to get em back is to quit and reopen, not so great in a live situation. Any ideas on how to tweak anything so it doesn't happen?

the files are too large. All under 1.5mb
720x480 72dpi

thanks

I do not use PS files too much. So I have just one mask with transparent backround acting up like graphic card failure (over heating). I let the shop run the test but there is no problem with my MBP. It seems that some times there is a problem with some files.
Try to remake the clip and see if this solves it (only if this happens to the same clip and randomly.

Nope it's random clips not one specifically.

Dont use photoshop. Convert them to jpeg or tiff, remember to change the color setting from CMYK to RGB so the color comes out right.
Good luck!

I find .png files work best, they have an alpha channel and a fairly small filesize. The only time I have problems is when the resolution is really large (over 3000px wide/high) it tends to slow things down a lot. If you don't need an alpha channel, .jpg works great.

I use After Effects to create my psd still images. Generates a cleaner alpha channel.
