    bad type ( fonts)

    by deepvisual » Wed Mar 11, 2009 8:13 am

I had an M8 user drop round this week, who was having problems with type.

he had been given quicktime mpeg2 files of text that looked fine in quicktime, but came out a little fuzzy in modul8.
we tried altering antialiasing, even recompressing the clips with a different codec ( AIC), but no improvement.

    any ideas????

And you tried photoJPEG at full quality? Is using the module driven type an option?

well, it looked like the artifacts were coming from modul8, not the files as it all looked fine in quicktime player.

He is currently trying to get the clips reauthored, its far too difficult to do in M8.

    actually, thinking about it,
if the files are MPEG2 then they are probably PAL size so they will be upscaled in M8, which is likely to be where the artifacts come in.
