    AKAI MPD32 midi config

    by vlak » Mon May 18, 2009 5:54 am

Hi, i recently bought an Akai MPD32, it works perfect on any DAW application and resolume avenue. But, in modul8 it does't work very well.

The problem is with the pads (knobs and faders works great). They're working, but only in an on/off mode. I mean, i hit and release a preiously congiured pad and (for example) the invert button remains on, until i hit the pad again. I read all the mpd32's manual. I made all the possible changes to the pad's config... but nothing works. Obviously, i want the pads to work in a momentary way.

    Can somebody help me? Thanks!

I have the same problem with MPD24... works perfect in any DAW app, but with Modul doesn't work very good.. I agree with you Vlak, knobs & faders works fine but I can't mapp the pads with the layers, even i'm in "layer position" doesn't work!! unfortunately AKAI has presets only for Arkaos VJ!!

i don't know how to configure this with M8.

Hi, i solved it this way:

The pads works, but in a "switch" way, not "momentary" way... so, you can map the pads normally to launch the videos. If you want to trigger the flash, invert or something like that, in a momentary way, use the buttons under the faders!

You'll need to edit them, because only the last to buttons works in "MOM" mode. So, if you need more edit the propeties and set to "MOM" the first item. When you're done, you'll see that the no-edited buttons works like a switch (on & off) and the edited ones works only when you push them. I hope you can solve it.

Write again if you need more help!

although it's a bit of a pain you can use MIDI Pipe between the mpd and md8 to tweak the MIDI messages as you want them.
