Hi everyone,

I'm looking to connect a super nintendo(rca or s-video) as a source (like a camera) to modul8 on a macbook pro unibody 17".

I can't find the right device to do this, I think I'm not the only one with this problem so If someone as a good way to do that without to much latency and at a decent price please let me know.

Thanks

PS: I found this: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/u ... or+Mac.htm

Will it work?

I think you want something firewire to get a lower latency. Many people are using The AVDC55 from Canopus. If you want to get really low or now latency you will need to look in to a black magic capture card, but I don't think they have any external capture devices that will run on a Mac Book / Macbook Pro. You could also look at the Matrox MX02 - that will give you lower latency, but still some.

I've got a Miglia Director's Cut v2.
Has got tullip input and output, connect to your macbook with firewire.
Works like a charm.

Firewire means DV compression unless you use TheImagagingSource FW capture device that does uncompressed.

USB dongles with VideoGlide drivers work surprisingly well(only few frames latency). Look here for compatible devices

And here is the list of devices that work.

Thanks for your respond.

Yes, I use one and I am very happy with it. Just make sure you get the right model. If you can see the open package then the included CD is violet with white and sais Ver.3.1B on the right lower part of the cd.

Fry_up, have you used one? Is is it supported by Modul8 ok? I hadn't heard from anyone using them.

One of my friends has the Matrox mxo2. Works fine and shows up in M8 as a camera source
