I just bought a Blackmagicdesign Video Recorder. I installed its software/drivers but mudul8 isn't seeing it. I go into the special media set tab and select the video capture icon but in the layer it just says video capture waiting. it never moves past this point. I've gone into the settings page and found the video capture settings. On that page is a button that says Source and Settings... but its greyed out and I'm not able to click it. It seems to me thats my golden ticket so if someone could tell me what I'm not doin/doing wrong please let me know.

What model do you have - A BlackMagic Video reorder is very vague.

You should save yourself a big head ache and work with the person who built the system you are trying to install this unit into.

Getting this unit installed and operating on the system is just the first step. Wait until you try to get the capture signal to fit on your custom mapped projection installation. This system was designed to be run by the VJ team that designed it

I bet your going to keep having problems trying to fix this system.

This is a link to the black magic unit I'm using.
This unit does not work as live video capture device. Period. It is designed to work ONLY with supplied software and digitize on board the card analog to h.264(for iPOd). It may be great fot recording your mix from one mac to another.
For further knowledge about workable ones refer to this
