Theres a little bug with playback direction where if playback type is set to pingpong and then set back to looped playback when the pingpong is in its "reverse" phase, the looped playback becomes reversed. One has to hit the playback direction arrow twice to get it back to normal.

Another unrelated "direction" bug I've noticed -

the play direction of clips sometimes "flip flops" when the master "speed" slider is being adjusted.

( it's not so bad, it sometimes creates cool effects! )

I don't know if is the same as you two said, or mixture of them, but having a layer (couple of them in my case) playing in ping pong mode, going backwards (no by the direction arrow, but on the "pong" part, the direction arrow is forward, but because it is on pingpong mode it's coming backward), if I change general speed, it put forwards.
Any solution to this?
it is quite annoying for me on a certain set..
