Hi, any one experienced this?
I've tried on laptop and 8core duo with 16 mb ram and it's the same.
2.6 was ok but since last update modul seems to start rendering but it happened nothing
apart the high processor usage.

Tried and works as always. I use PhotoJPG codec and PNG with alpha and h.264.

I just tried to record shorter sequences, and it works with animation codec,
but still freezes sometimes.
Thasks for help anyways .)

What I meant my clips are in these codeces. I tried to record to animation, but my test was rather short(about 800 frames).

thanks
My was much longer, a few minutes and most of t footage was in p-jpeg.
Maybe it just to long sequence to handle by modul.
It works now but still behave a bit funny.

I just rendered 6.52 long sequence 1024x576 with mixed size clips some with alpha in 5 layers to animation without any stutter.
Even more I forgot to quit AE that was hidden plus few more hidden apps.
I use MBP v4.1. So you may want to look what is eating your mac resources.
And some modules may act weird with some codec or length of the clip.

Logical Record

Since upgrading to 2.6.1 my Logical record behaves very strange indeed. it is making me very unhappy about this version and I contemplating returning to the previous for pre-production work. I am annoyed as I paid out for the upgrade and now my Modul8 rendering is inept. It has left me standed with no way to render.
At first i though must be my movie or image sizes and codecs.
And it is true that if I use Motion JPEG as my movie format I seem to get some sort of results.
Today I have attempted to do a logical record with simple graphics
no movies a few PNG's and the painter layer.... There is a multitude of errors.
The video does not display... if I forward the video the video displays partially
Usually I record the video to a track and render to the same track.
However I have nothing on Render... The video is there I can preview it by forwarding but not by playing or rendering.
I cannot salvage what I have done... I attempt a screen capture but 10fps is useless.
I am more than disappointed and would appreciate any feedback that can be offered.
Again very disappointing

I can not understand what you are saying. Like what do mean: *The video does not display... if I forward the video the video displays partially*. What video does not display where and so on. I say again for me logical record works fine so please try to explain what you are doing and what is the result bit more step by step.
Render problem

Hi thankyou for your time.
I have attempted to do a logical record with simple graphics.
I am using painter to make dots and animate them.
I record these with some Logos which are PNG layers
I press record record and record what I am doing... when I hit play there is nothing
when I search through... forward the recorded material it is there...
when I hit play the painter layers are empty??
some of it renders off but again the painter layers are missing.
When I examine the painter module to see if its empty the dots are there
the layer states empty.

The logical record option cannot record:
1- auto move, auto scale, auto color when using sound input
2- live camera feed
3- painter module
Sorry for that…

And please do not get mad about this. The Logical Record can not do this because it renders the output frame by frame, but not in real time. So everything that happens in real time can recorded, but not rendered as a movie. You could use capture to disk instead (I think it works, but I have never used it) if you mac can handle CPU stress. Other vise you get freezes and dropped frames.
So when you start mixing you hit capture to disk and stop when you are done.
Render freezes

Hi
thanks for that... Im just wondering when modul8 freezes during a render and the quicktime file is not completed but you have say a 7GB file..
Is there any possible way to recover that file? or indeed get Modul8 to stop the render there? I click stop render but as the program becomes unresponsive this doesnt parse the file....
It would be great if there was some way to finalise the file where the crash happens or perhaps from some other utility?
Kind Regards
Jim
