    audio output troubles

    by littleradiohead » Tue Mar 30, 2010 11:52 pm

hello! new here - not sure if this is the right place for this question, but i'm getting pretty frustrated from a few hours of searching on google.

i have a MBP running 10.6.1 and I cannot get 'live' or 'dynamic' audio to output of out m8 whatsoever.

I can load in quicktime files and get my sound to output just fine, however I cannot get my internal microphone to output, nor playing a tape through a DV deck

I have adjusted the sound input and output knobs on the lower right corner, I can see my audio input in my system preferences and I just tried the sound viewer tool module and it shows the volume levels in my mic.

but for the life of me, i can't get the audio to output to anything!

What do you mean "get the audio to output to anything"?

The audio input is only for fx control etc NOT to record or route incoming audio.

Whenever I play a clip of something, the audio will output to my speakers, or my line-out or whatever I have it set to.

If I have incoming live audio through firewire - or through a MOTU - it does not output.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?

    Thanks for your response!

. i use motu digital performer so i *think* i know what you're asking...

. you'll need a sound pass through application to 'route' sound to your system's audio out . i use soundflower1.5.1 on os x10.6.2 -BUT - it craps out about every 45 minutes or so.

. when using audio in, make sure the the audio in knob in the main interface of modul8 is turned up.
