How to record during a show ?

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to record live events in real time.
> capture to disk loses frames and logical record is difficult to use during a show

1) I thought first to use firewire as a monitor (like does Final cut Studio)
It would be fantastic to assign a firewire output via the "advanced output setup" in Modul8, and use any dv recorder!

Is there any way to do it or anything similar?

thanks

No, it would not. The smooth performance is what makes M8 different from others. This would add glitches for sure.
The best recording your performance is using split your VGA/DVI output to projector and scan converter then to recording device(computer, HDD recorder, Camera).
There are now devices that allow VGA capture to computer. A good one is Matrox MXO2 mini
http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products ... mxo2_mini/
with ExpressCard.
USB video capture dongles from scanny work pretty good too.
There is a app that has FW recording capabilities - Isadora. As far as I have read it does not do great.
And there is a screen capture option too. Search for VADE screen capture plugin.

Thanks Vanakaru,

As you said, mxo2 apparently works using a dvi to hdmi converter.

I'll try this week with an intensity pro/mac pro config to tell you if it works too.

Hi!

Record from a macbookpro DVI output to a macpro/intensity card works perfectly
via a cable dvi/hdmi.

i did it with a FCP station and got sound from intensity analog inputs.
