Strage lines appear on-screen!

Hey guys,

Noticed this bug a few times but saturday I could isolate it.

I have alet's say 3 layers on, all with Luma key on.

Last one gets additive-color corrected.

If I turn the laer preview for that layer ON, the output screen starts showing color lines (of the added color). It's similar to the rasterbars appearing in commodore 64 games! :P

I could reproduce this again and film it for you if you need to. It doesnt show up on the layer preview window, only in the output.

If I turn a few of the layers off, it decreases.
If I turn the preview to GRID mode, it goes away.

Same setup as always, iBook G3 @ 700, 384MB RAM, 10.3.9, Edirol PCR-30

I start to wonder if the OpenGL context sharing that we implemented in V2.0 is simply not properly supported on the iBook G3 hardware. You have many strange visual artefacts that nobody ever saw before. Maybe I should turn off context sharing on iBook G3 systems...?

What is context sharing? Can you explain further?

I started noticing these things again, they seem to happen when I turn the preview on. Probably has to do with my reduced hardware capabilities on teh poor old G3.

Well, since the V2.0 Modul8 shares the same OpenGL context for all its different outputs (preview, final, UI). It means less VRam used and faster rendering in some specific cases. Now maybe, it is possible that it causes some conflict on older hardware which does not support very well GL context sharing.

Tell me how can I help you with this, if it is worth at all. Seems like I am the only G3 user here ;)

NEW USER on G5 system with same problems

I am a new user, but am also noticing the same lines or bars occasionally, usually using lumi key and then adding contrast or lightness, then I get horizontal bars jumping around. !?! any ideas. I have a good 128 MB ATI card I am outputing my video with.
A seperate issue is the slow almost jumpy speed of most of my clips. All are small clips recompressed as directed, but this also effects the stock Modul8 loops. Can't figure that one out. The worst is a short loop I have that is VERY jumpy with a horizontal line splitting the image. playing with my settings to see what is causing this, as it is not always the case.Hmmmm

Jumpy speed ? elaborate a bit ?
What do you use (codec/resolution/length/FPS) for your movie ?
How many layer do you use in the same time ?

About horizontal line splitting the image :
You speak about the preview or the output windows ?
Do you use the full screen or not ?
What is the resolution of your output ?
What is th Hz of your output (or your screen) ?

Usualy the preview is a preview and is not always perfect, but the output not.
